Environmental Considerations

Compliance for the storage of fuels above ground has become more stringent recently due to the damage and contamination to our soils and eventually our underground waterways caused by old and inferior systems currently in use throughout NZ.

Sebco® have taken the lead in NZ with their compliant product to ensure no contamination as shown here will occur from the design and structure of their systems assuming operators follow the appropriate guidelines provided.

Compliance

From 1 April 2007 an existing tank over 2000 litres must comply with one of the following:

• Be bunded; or
• Be managed in accordance with a code of practice or compliance plan which sets out a programme for bringing the tank into compliance with HSNO or otherwise provides a satisfactory means of environmental protection.
